De Petzl CAPTIV is een positioneringsbeugel die je op een karabiner monteert. Hij houdt de karabiner in de juiste stand ten opzichte van het aangesloten apparaat, zodat de belasting altijd in de lengterichting valt.

Dat is geen detail: een karabiner die dwars belast wordt, verliest een groot deel van zijn sterkte. De CAPTIV voorkomt dat de karabiner kan draaien of kantelen tijdens gebruik, en houdt het geheel bovendien overzichtelijk bij het aan- en afkoppelen.
